Completing your Brillian onboarding smoothly starts with having the right information on hand. Here's what you'll need before you begin.

Financial data

Brillian requires 3–5 years of financial history to produce a valuation. You'll need either:

  • QuickBooks access — if your business uses QuickBooks Online, you can authorize a direct connection during onboarding, or

  • Financial statements — income statements (profit and loss) and balance sheets for each year

Having these ready before you start will prevent delays.

Valuation questionnaire

Before providing your financial data, you'll complete a questionnaire that captures context your financial statements don't reflect on their own. Topics include:

  • Ownership structure

  • Customer base and concentration

  • Competitive differentiation

  • Growth trajectory and business goals

  • Exit or transition timeline, if applicable

This questionnaire is completed directly in the platform — no preparation required, but it helps to have a clear sense of your business goals before you sit down.

Account basics

You'll need a valid email address to create your Brillian account. If you were referred by a financial advisor, use the unique signup link they sent you — this ensures your advisor is connected to your account.

Optional: invite others

If you'd like a partner, bookkeeper, or accountant to have access to your Brillian account, you can add them as a viewer, editor, or admin. You can do this during onboarding or at any time from your account settings.
