How do I update account information on behalf of my business owner client?

How financial advisors and service providers can update account and business information on behalf of their business owner clients.

Let's start with your permissions

Your role in Brillian is a "Service Provider," which is intended for third-party professionals supporting the business (for example: financial advisor, accountant, CPA, or consultant).

Service Providers can access and work on permitted business data and workflows, but does not have full administrative control. You can edit details about a client's business, upload documents, or connect QuickBooks on their behalf - but you cannot change personal information such as name or email.

To update a client's business information

Business details — including financial documents, QuickBooks connections, and questionnaire responses — are managed within the client's business dashboard. These can be updated on the Details, Documents, and Settings tabs.


To update a client's profile or personal information

You are not able to update a client's name, email address, or other personal details on their behalf. Please tell your client to reach out to [email protected] to make any necessary changes.
