If you're having trouble connecting QuickBooks to Brillian, it usually comes down to one of two things.
1. Are you using QuickBooks Online?
Brillian connects directly with QuickBooks Online. If you're using QuickBooks Desktop, a direct connection isn't available, but you can still get your data to us by uploading your financial statements instead. See How do I upload documents to my Brillian account? for the steps.
2. Are you an admin on your QuickBooks account?
Only a QuickBooks admin can authorize the connection. If you're not the admin - for example, if your accountant or bookkeeper manages your QuickBooks account - then you won't be able to complete the connection yourself.
To determine if you are an admin on your QuickBooks account:
Log into QuickBooks and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
2. Click on Manager Users from the menu dropdown.
3. You should see your name, email, and role as an admin. If any of these steps aren't possible (no gear icon, no Manage Users link) then you are not an admin on the account.
If you are not an admin on your QuickBooks account:
Ask the owner of your QuickBooks account to make you an admin.
Or add that person to your Brillian account under Settings > Manage Users. Once they're added, they can log in and establish the QuickBooks connection on your behalf.
